The Elko District has hundreds of riparian, aspen, and special status plant exclosures scattered throughout its boundaries, most of which require BLM maintenance. Due to a reduced workforce, many of these exclosures have been neglected and are in disrepair. Impact by cattle and material weathering contribute to this degradation. A seasonal maintenance crew is needed to reconstruct, monitor, repair and/or maintain these valuable land management tools. Along with monitoring the condition of these exclosures, crews will also be responsible for monitoring the important habitat they protect which includes identifying plants and wildlife.
