The San Marcos Aquatic Resources Center maintains a refugium for and conducts research on listed aquatic species associated with the Edwards Aquifer and other Texas spring systems. Increased pressure on the Edwards aquifer from area growth and development, increased water use, drought, and introduction of invasive plants and animals has seriously affected species maintained and studied at the Center. We seek an intern to assist U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service personnel in maintenance and propagation of endangered Texas wild rice and other plant species. The main duties of this position include collection of Texas wild rice seed from the wild; propagation and care of Texas wild rice, other aquatic species, and streambank species; mixing soil and potting plants; maintaing and repairing aquacu
