Description Three interns are needed to work as part of the Piping Plover recovery project with the USFWS in Rhode Island. This project monitors federally protected Piping Plovers and State protected Least Terns during the nesting season. American Oystercatchers which are classified as a Species of High Concern and federally protected Roseate Terns will also be monitored. Surveys will occur on federal, state, and private property in southern Rhode Island. The majority of the work for this position(s) will take place outdoors. Duties include erecting nest exclosures, posting and signing nesting habitat, educating the public, monitoring shorebird pairs and chicks, and recording data.
