The Riparian Lands Crew Members (2) will work with Conservation Science staff and partners on grant-funded projects relating to wildlife habitat, water quality improvements, and public accessibility on state-owned riparian lands within and near to the Memphremagog watershed.

Main projects include: 

  • Accessibility Improvement Projects: This includes construction of stone or rot-resistant wood step structures to improve streambank access for canoes, kayaks, and other car-top boats at stream sites owned by the State of Vermont. It also includes the implementation of stormwater and runoff improvements at State-owned Access Areas which can reduce nutrient and contaminant runoff and improve shoreline habitat for aquatic species.
