The Nooksack River Steward Program provides salmon focused environmental education, restoration, and stewardship opportunities to recreational users of the Nooksack River from June-September in partnership with local organizations, agencies, and municipalities.

Duties include:

  • Educate and engage recreators on salmon ecology, human impacts to habitat, and local restoration and recovery efforts
  • Engage community audiences in salmon- and locally-themed stories and activities
  • Lead, educate, and engage volunteers in environmental restoration efforts
  • Develop creative multimedia outreach materials
  • Work collaboratively with fellow interns to plan and organize for upcoming needs
  • Other duties as assigned
