Overview

This is a great opportunity for the right individual to manage the administration of Kew’s flagship outreach learning initiative, Grow Wild, which engages people across the UK to grow and enjoy plants and fungi.

Grow Wild has won multiple national awards for its scale, impact and creativity. Since 2014, over four million people have taken part in its activities focused on UK native species. We deliver environmental and wellbeing impacts by inspiring children, young people and adults to take positive actions online and on-the-ground.

You will be responsible for Grow Wild’s budget and spend records, including grant processes, and delivering accurate output monitoring, including its analysis. The initial focus will be support for youth projects, resources, community training and digital engagement. The post holder will also provide vital support for managing internal and external relationships and the team’s office arrangements.

We use the power of science and the rich diversity of our Gardens and collections to provide knowledge, inspiration and understanding of why plants and fungi matter to everyone.

Grow Wild is part of Kew’s Learning and Participation team. We engage audiences with Kew’s science collections and horticulture through formal and informal learning programmes and community engagement.

During 2020 and 2021, Grow Wild will achieve over 150,000 positive actions each year by target audiences. Grow Wild will also deliver new outreach learning activities with additional funding from private, public and corporate contributions. This approach is made possible thanks to the ongoing support from the National Lottery Community Fund and other funders.
