Overview

 Job Purpose

Lead the dissemination of expert technical information arising from activities within the Wildlife and Natural Heritage Sector, to all levels of internal and external stakeholders and appropriate communication and media platforms, in coordination with relevant internal departments. In addition help cascade relevant information from internal and external sources to team members within the Wildlife and Natural Heritage Sector.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities

  1. Manage expert knowledge arising from W&NH activities.
  2. Coordinate and disseminate expert knowledge to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Using various software, including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software prepare reports and/or special projects for internal and external audiences.
  4. Prepare reports and presentations for the W&NH Executive Director and assist other team members, as required.
  5. Conceive and prepare newsworthy media outputs, working with relevant internal teams.
  6. Ensure reports are delivered to an appropriate standard and quality, in a timely fashion.
  7. Attend events to present information on the results and activities of the W&NH Sector.
  8. Ensure to Keep abreast of relevant internal and external information and as appropriate cascade to W&NH Sector members.
  9. Promote the work of the W&NH team and RCU more widely, on social media, in line with RCU cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  10. Perform other duties related to the position, as assigned by Direct Manager.

Job Requirements

Academic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a subject related to Biodiversity Conservation and Natural Resource Management

• Preferably a further qualification in media, communications or advertising

Work Experience

• 8 Years’ experience in Biodiversity Conservation and Natural Resource Management and Media, Communications, Advertising or a related field.

Other Requirements

• Written and Oral proficiency of English language.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Outstanding organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to work to short deadlines, if required.

• Discretion and trustworthiness.
