Main purpose of the job:
This is a unique role to work with 3 highly innovative businesses in Devon. Dartington Hall Trust, Timber
Strategies and South Devon Sawmills work closely together to manage the legacy of innovative forestry at
Dartington and continue that innovative. Currently this includes management of the high-forest towards more
resilient silvicultural species and silvicultural systems; extensive agroforestry systems and species trials. This
role is primarily to develop this innovative work and put in place recording and outreach systems to create
meaningful results from these experiments.
Within this framework the successful candidate will spend time with Timber Strategies on their ongoing work
within the realms of forest products and properties and with Devon sawmi
