Seabirds thrive on predator-free islands and island around the UK have been an historic strong-hold, and good biosecurity is essential to maintain these sites as safe for breeding seabirds. Increasing movements of goods and people, together with climate change, are increasing the threat of new predator incursions and are putting our seabird islands at risk. The UK-wide Biosecurity for LIFE project is working to address this threat, and we are looking for a Biosecurity Officer to join our team. An ideal candidate will have the skills and enthusiasm to empower island residents and local communities to protect islands in Western and Central Scotland and Northern England through comprehensive biosecurity programmes.
