English Twite are in trouble with a population of just a few hundred breeding birds left in the South Pennines. We are therefore looking for a highly motivated and experienced project officer to cover a period of maternity leave and help us save these enigmatic birds. The role will involve working with farmers and landowners to ensure land that has been put into environmental stewardship is being managed to the right prescriptions and to maximise its suitability for Twite. It will also involve working with volunteers to facilitate colony protection, supplementary feeding and trialling different habitat interventions.
