About the Living Levels Landscape Partnership

The Living Levels Landscape Partnership was created to conserve and enhance the natural and cultural heritage of the Gwent Levels, an area of low-lying grassland and wetland adjacent to the Bristol Channel / Severn Estuary, and to reconnect people with this landscape.

The Partnership includes the RSPB (lead partner), Gwent Wildlife Trust, Natural Resources Wales, Newport City Council, Monmouthshire County Council, Cardiff Council, Gwent Archives, Cardiff Story Museum, Sustrans, National Trust, Bumblebee Conservation Trust and BugLife Cymru. We are also working with a wider group of stakeholders that includes the local Community Councils, representatives from the farming community and a wide range of community and interest groups throughout the region.

The Partnership has completed a four-year project funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund and is now moving forward with a legacy plan with support from key partners. The legacy plan will build on the successes of the NLHF-funded project to develop a long-term and sustainable future for the project and the Gwent Levels.
