Description The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) requires a highly motivated scientist to conduct taxonomic research on the South African flora in accordance with the Biosystematics Research Strategy; disseminate research findings through publications; curate herbarium collections for certain plant families and provide information services for specialist families The appointment requires qualification and experience as follows: Be in possession of a PhD in a field of botany, enhanced by a minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in plant taxonomic research (in the form of at least five first authored papers in peer-reviewed journals), evidence of ability to secure research funding, regular conference presentation and experience in herbarium processes.
