American Bird Conservancy (ABC) is looking for a self-motivated intern to work with ABC staff scientists to update the global database for the Seabird Mapping and Information for Fisheries (SMIF). This work will support ABC’s Seabird Program, and our efforts to improve tools for sustainable fisheries management and the preservation of marine ecosystems. The SMIF and underlying fisheries-based database is a geographic mapping and search tool that enables users to freely access the most relevant information on seabird distribution, conservation status and research on fisheries interactions and bycatch mitigation.
