The Seattle Aquarium is expanding its conservation efforts. As part of this growth, the Seattle Aquarium launched a new department, conservation programs and partnerships, in January, 2018. This department encompasses three main focal areas: science, policy and sustainability. We have had a robust conservation research program, as well as active policy and sustainability programs for decades. However, this work was previously focused primarily on the Salish Sea. The ocean policy manager will fill a vital leadership role for advancing the Seattle Aquarium’s policy work, helping to realize our vision to emerge as a pro-active leader in conservation, both in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
