The RHS, the world’s leading gardening charity is seeking a Senior Ecologist. As part of our Sustainability Strategy we are committed to measuring and improving garden-based biodiversity-positive actions in RHS gardens and helping UK gardeners to do the same. Can you help deliver this?

We are looking for a Senior Ecologist to deliver on the Net Positive for Nature, Biodiversity Positive element of the RHS Sustainability Strategy. To design ecological surveys determining baseline biodiversity in RHS gardens and measure impacts, over time of wildlife gardening strategies. The post holder will develop and promote new strategies for ecological gardening and build collaborations (nationally and internationally) with other stakeholders to develop innovative research projects investigating the impact of gardening practices on wildlife.

Applicants should have a PhD in ecological science or a related area, or a relevant first-degree level qualification plus relevant experience. Experience of designing / supervising ecological surveys or research projects, and of sampling methods and statistical analysis for assessments of biodiversity, are also essential.
