The Sigrid Rausing Trust is a grantmaking foundation based in London with a 2018 budget of £27.25 million.

The Trust is seeking an exceptional individual to manage our new Conservation grant-making portfolio. The role focuses on supporting the smooth and efficient implementation of a grant-making programme providing financial support to organisations seeking to protect the environment through biodiversity conservation, habitat restoration and sustainable land and resource management.

The successful candidate will have at least seven to ten years’ work experience in the field of conservation, and a commitment to supporting grassroots and national level conservation actors. Experience of working on the former Soviet Union, Central and Eastern, Europe, the Balkans or the Middle East North Africa is desirable.

You will be responsible for researching potential applicants, working with those invited to apply, reviewing applications, and writing and presenting recommendations to Trustees. The role also includes managing the relationship with grantees, conducting research, and keeping informed of developments in the programme area.

You must be well-organised, analytical and with good attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.

The Senior Programme Officer for Conservation reports to the Executive Director, and will have part-time support from a programme associate. Programme staff are also assisted by a small administrative team. The role is based in London.

A competitive salary will be offered, plus pension contributions.
