The climate and nature crises require comprehensive, bold solutions and urgent action in order to reverse the accelerating decline that nature and society now faces. In response, Dartmoor National Park Authority (DNPA) has recently launched an ambitious new nature enhancement strategy based around the restoration of natural processes at a catchment scale. Core to this is the health of Dartmoor’s rivers, peatlands and wetlands, which we are aiming to enhance for multiple environmental and societal benefits through the Southwest Peatland Partnership Dartmoor Headwaters Programme. This represents the next phase of an ambitious initiative funded principally by Natural England to restore the blanket bogs and mires across the south west’s three largest moorlands: Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodm
