The post holder will work under the direction of the AMC Head in undertaking the husbandry, management and maintenance of the teaching collections of birds (Edward’s, brown eared and Palawan pheasants, Manchurian cranes, bald ibis, chough, poultry, waterfowl, turacos, kookaburra, owls, finches, pigeons and parakeets) and paddock animals (donkeys, alpacas, goats, dwarf zebu, wallabies, mara, rheas, domestic waterfowl). Working closely with, and covering absences for, the second technician across both collections, the post holder will ensure correct animal husbandry, both directly and through providing supervision and support to students in practical husbandry sessions, to achieve exemplary standards in animal care, training and the learner experience.
