The Stewardship Assistant position will be based out of the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve (https://www.apalachicolareserve.com/) with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. The Reserve is located in Franklin, Gulf and Calhoun Counties in Northwest Florida and is part of the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint River system (ACF). Programming at the Reserve focuses on Research, Education, Stewardship, and Coastal Training. Collaboration with a variety of local and state partners is utilized to achieve a diversity of management plan goals. The Reserve is also a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, an internationally designated protected area meant to demonstrate a balanced relationship between people and nature.
