Work as a member of a trail team at Cherokee National Forest. During your time at the forest you’ll be focused on trail maintenance and surveying. The work will be based throughout the North Zone of the Cherokee National Forest.  Outcomes – Assist district personnel in completing annual work targets including: Trail Maintenance (40%) – Assists North Zone Trails supervisor in maintaining district trails. Repairing and maintaining information boards, trail signs, tread-work, corridors, erosion control issues and footbridges. Trail condition surveys (40%) – Collects data on trail user numbers, damaged trail segments, and unauthorized/illegal trails.
