The preservation Intern will work with the National Parks of New York Harbor’s Building Up summer youth preservation program performing and assisting high school youth with preservation and maintenance projects at parks and sites throughout the greater NYC metro Area. The Building Up Summer program provides work, service and recreational experiences and sites and engages youth from New York City Department of Education Career and Technical Education schools in the preservation trades as well as in recreational opportunities. The Preservationist Intern will serve as a senior member of the crew as well participate in the planning of projects.
