This position is located in the Division of Sea Turtle Science and Recovery, assisting with a variety of sea turtle science and recovery projects at Padre Island National Seashore.  Field work will be conducted in difficult and varied field conditions, which include high temperatures, wind, and humidity. May conduct daytime patrols on beaches to detect nesting by Kemp’s ridley and other sea turtles.  Stays overnight in Recreational Vehicle (RV) for up to 5 nights a week to aid with egg care and release sea turtle hatchlings (June through October). Aids with documentation, investigation, and protection of nesting sea turtles, sea turtle nests, and live and dead sea turtles found washed ashore on the beach.  May aid with attachment of satellite transmitters to nesting Kemp’s r
