The Forest Society is currently seeking two full-time, temporary, 12-week summer forestry technicians. This position provides field support for the Forest Society’s Forestry department during the busy summer field season. Work is primarily outdoors, and includes regular monitoring and stewardship tasks on Forest Society reservations.  This position works both independently on field assignments, as well as on group tasks with Forest Society staff and volunteers.

Job Responsibilities (may include some to all of the following):

  • Perform annual boundary line maintenance (60 miles)
  • Perform post-harvest surveys to measure regeneration, snags and downed woody debris
  • Assist with timber stand improvement projects
  • Engage in everyday stewar
