Summary

The incumbent serves as Supervisory Research Entomologist within the United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Pollinator Health in Southern Crop Ecosystems Research Unit, Southern Pollinator Health Center in Stoneville, MS. Incumbent provides leadership for a new Research Unit that focuses on how to improve both honey and native bee health as well as improving natural habitat and minimizing risk to stressors including pesticides and pests.

Responsibilities

  • Determine pesticide risks to honey bees, both by laboratory assays and field studies in southern cropping systems.
  • Develop IPM systems to mitigate the effects of pesticides on bees in these systems.
