We are looking for a financial inclusion specialist with practical experience and strong understanding of using pro-poor finance (e.g. microcredit, and savings and loans) to support smallholders and/or producers, ideally in a context of community-based development and fisheries management. The successful candidate will have a deep and sensitive appreciation of the complex challenges facing remote and rural tropical coastal communities; including widespread poverty, high vulnerability to climate change, gender inequality, an overwhelming reliance on fishing livelihoods for food and income, data deficiency, and weak national governance.
