Thames River Watch is a citizen science project which aims to help people better understand the health of the tidal Thames. It was launched in 2014 and is the only project carrying out long term monitoring of litter on the Thames. The project currently has two active volunteer hubs – at Greenwich and Hammersmith where monthly litter surveys are carried out. Citizen science volunteers are actively involved in the project as Litter Monitoring Volunteers and Thames Ambassadors. All Thames River Watch data is used to communicate widely about the challenges that the Thames faces and to try to influence the behaviour of individuals, organisations and policy makers to make positive changes leading to a healthier river Thames. We are looking for a keen, flexible and self-motivated individual
