Job Description: The Great Basin Institute, in cooperation with the US Forest Service (USFS) at Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU), is recruiting Forestry Crew Technicians to work cooperatively with USFS and GBI staff to perform timber sale-preparation, vegetation management and restoration projects within forest/woodland areas. Duties will include performing unit location identification and layout (flagging, marking, GPSing), tree species identification, tree marking based on silvicultural prescriptions, and identifying, classifying, and flagging stream environment zones (SEZ), timber cruising and assisting in stand exam data collection.
