The Institute for Bird Populations (IBP) seeks one (1) volunteer field technician to assist in a long-term study on Tongan Ground-doves on Ofu and Olosega islands in American Samoa . This position lasts from April 1, 2018 to at least August 1, 2018 with preference for applicants who are interested in staying longer, as late as December 1, 2018. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and this position will be filled as soon as possible. The position entails hiking long hours in a humid, tropical environment, and assisting with banding, telemetry, and blood and feather collection, among other related tasks which will help us improve our knowledge of this Endangered population.
