The Mammal Spatial Ecology and Conservation Lab, at Washington State University, is seeking two field technicians to conduct fieldwork in support of a project focused on snowshoe hare. The project will begin in early- to mid-June 2018 and lasting 10 weeks. Start and end dates are somewhat flexible. Fieldwork will take place in the Loomis State Forest and Colville National Forest in Northcentral Washington. Background and Purpose: Snowshoe hare are a keystone boreal forest species, and the primary prey of the state-endangered Canada lynx. Despite their importance, our understanding of hare density in Washington is relatively poor.
