Overview

Tin Mountain Conservation Center is a non-profit organization providing environmental programs that foster greater awareness and understanding of the natural environment for school children, adults, and families. We are seeking an intern beginning mid-to-late October 2019 for our Resident Bird Study.

The Resident Bird Study focuses on examining the annual cycle for black-capped chickadees, red-breasted nuthatches, white-breasted nuthatches, and tufted titmice. The study involves re-sighting banded birds, weekly point counts, and territory mapping. Prior bird handling and experience with GIS/GPS and statistics would be helpful. The project takes place on Tin Mountain’s 140-acre Rockwell Sanctuary.

The Resident Bird Study will begin mud-to-late October and run through April 2020. Compensation is $1000/month plus housing.

Interested applicants should email a resume and cover letter, including dates of availability, to Nora Dufilho (nbeem@tinmountain.org).
