We have a rare opportunity for a qualified veterinarian to join our Marine Savers team. The perfect chance
to develop niche skills in sea turtle care, whilst working alongside our established team of dedicated marine biologists.

  • Contract: full-time paid position, annual renewal.

The Role

  • Manage our Turtle Rescue Centre/s; on-call for rescue and first-aid (surgery and amputations).
  • Develop diet plans; clean & maintain the rehab tanks and lagoon enclosure.
  • Conduct research on ‘Buoyancy Syndrome’; order medications and develop our facilities.
  • Connect with rescue centres inter/nationally; continue our ‘Flying Turtles’ program.

The Ideal Candidate

  • BSc/MSc/PhD in Veterinary Science, with experience in sea turtle pathology, surgery and rehabilitation.
  • Knowledge and experience in tropical marine biology preferred.
  • Confident written/spoken English (extra languages desirable); sociable, creative, adaptable.
  • Computer literate; confident swimmer; physically fit non-smoker (able to lift 20kg).
