Main Purpose of the Job 2020 has been billed as the “super year” for biodiversity, with many significant international meetings that will decide on conservation policy for the next ten years – particularly the IUCN World Conservation Congress (June, France), UN Biodiversity Conference (China, October), but also including the UN Ocean Conference (June, Portugal) & UN Climate Conference (UK, November). UNEP-WCMC intends to have a high profile and impactful input to these meetings, and is seeking an Events Officer to coordinate engagement in these meetings in collaboration with technical, communications and administrative staff.
