DESCRIPTION Under supervision, the Coral Reef Ecologist 1 will perform standard repetitive, technical laboratory and field experimental procedures requiring theoretical knowledge within a marine ecology laboratory at Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO). The incumbent will assist with the collection and processing of benthic and fish ecological data. Contribute to entry of written data and perform taxonomic analysis of photographic data. Perform lab maintenance, order supplies, service and maintain equipment, occasionally update computers, and maintain accurate records. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor Degree in natural sciences (Biology, Marine Biology, Ecology, or comparable organismal discipline); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
