Successful applicants will assist with capture and telemetry of radio-marked wood ducks in LaGrange Pool of the Illinois River. Primary duties will include maintaining bait sites, trapping (confusion traps), rocket netting, 24-hr surveillance of marked ducks, and recovery of mortalities. Additionally, technicians may assist with a diverse array of ongoing waterfowl and wetland related projects, possibly including, waterbird surveys, trap fabrication for wetland birds (e.g., rails), cover mapping wetland vegetation, true metabolizable energy trials of teal, captive duck husbandry, double observer counts of shorebird flocks, and other duties as assigned.
