The Cooperative Institute for Great Lakes Research (CIGLR) is seeking a highly-skilled ice-ocean modeler to work with a multi-disciplinary team that is developing physical models for the northern Pacific Ocean, Bering, Chukchi, and Arctic Seas. Specifically, the candidate will help with the development of storm surge forecasts for western Alaska, which will help guide management decisions in this region. The candidate will work with the project lead to implement, test, and verify the Los Alamos Sea Ice Model (CICE) for western Alaska, as well as to implement the verified ice model in a coupled ice-surge-wave forecast model.
