The University of Rhode Island is seeking a highly-motivated research technician to assist a graduate student in investigating spatial movements and habitat use of American woodcock (adults and broods) in Rhode Island state management areas. Primary duties will include searching for nests and broods using pointing dogs, mist-netting, banding adults and broods, attaching radio-telemetry packages, tracking, vegetation measurement, recapturing tagged woodcock in fall, GPS attachment, and data entry. Technician will work 40 hours/week but schedule will be irregular especially during the nesting season. The position will run from 25 March-1 November 2020. Housing may be available in Kingston, RI.
