The Great Salt Lake is North America’s largest hyper-saline lake, and many avian species are dependent upon it, including eared grebes, Wilson’s phalaropes, red-necked phalaropes, black stilts, and American avocets. Unfortunately, the Great Salt Lake is experiencing anthropogenic changes from water diversion, salt extraction using evaporation ponds, the harvest of brine shrimp cysts, and human development. I am seeking a highly qualified student to study the potential impacts of some of these threats to phalaropes and eared grebes using the Great Salt Lake. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The position involves studying birds on the Great Salt Lake year round. Candidates should have an M.S. completed by June 1, 2018. Preference given to students with a GPA higher
