Employee serves as the leader and expert that plans, oversees and implements the Black Bear Project and provides technical expertise to the Board, DGIF employees, state/federal agencies, and citizens of Virginia. Primary areas of responsibility for this position include oversight of statewide black bear conservation, research and management programs, monitoring population trends, formulating regulations, analyzing data, planning and conducting research, preparing reports and managing human/wildlife conflicts.
