Overview

As a volunteer in the United States you support a dedicated animal conservation project which helps wild animals in need and, at same time, get the chance to discover the Sunshine State Florida from up close!

Details

During your time as a volunteer you will work and live on the grounds of a wildlife sanctuary in Central Florida. The sanctuary relies on the help of dedicated volunteers to sustain and expand what is a lifelong refuge for many wild animals in need.

You will work up to 8 hours a day. Minor chores are carried out on Sundays. You’ll be involved in preparing the food and feeding the animals, cleaning and maintaining the enclosures and grounds and assisting with veterinary care. Local coordinators will give you instructions and supply you with curricula and training materials. Keep in mind: Direct contact with the animals is forbidden. The wildlife sanctuary also welcomes visitor groups to raise awareness and inform about animal care and welfare.

Play an active part on the sanctuary ground, make a valuable contribution to animal welfare and spend an unforgettable time in Florida!

Accommodation

You will be accommodated in a shared accommodation near the wildlife sanctuary. You will sleep in shared, same-sex bedrooms and have access to a shared bathroom. The kitchen and washing facilities are available at all times. The accommodation has electricity, air-conditioning, television, a DVD player and a WLAN connection. Food will be provided, but you need to prepare the daily meals on your own.
