The aim of Welsh Government Marine & Fisheries Division is to support sustainable fisheries as an integral part of clean, healthy, safe, productive and biologically diverse Welsh seas. The Control & Enforcement Team are responsible for the implementation and enforcement of relevant European, UK and Welsh marine and fisheries legislation. One of the major policy areas within Fisheries relates to Sea Fishing. This area brings staff in direct contact with the fishing industry, the technical measures that control fishing and with other parts of the UK and Europe. The main purpose of this post is to lead operational delivery of the marine licensing regime and nature conservation legislation, as well as taking the lead on scientific work within the Control and Enforcement Branch
