Job description for WCF director Guinea Hiring Structure: Wild Chimpanzee Foundation (WCF) / Foundation for Wild Chimpanzees Context: The WCF in support of the Guinean government began since 2017 a project to create the Middle Bafing National Park of nearly 6 500 km 2 along the Bafing River, straddling the natural regions of Foutah-Djallon and Upper Guinea. Many past and ongoing biological, economic and social studies have identified the Middle Bafing region as a priority conservation area. This area, home to over 4,600 chimpanzees, contains the largest continuous population of West African chimpanzees, a critically endangered subspecies. This national park also represents an ecological compensation zone for the residual negative effects on chimpanzees resulting from mining activities
