Do you share a passion for science and evidence informing decisions affecting the natural environment?  The Trust is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic leader and manager who is committed to the growth and development of Wiltshire & Swindon Biological Records Centre (WSBRC) and who has an understanding of the importance that good data has in supporting decisions affecting the environment.

The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial, service oriented outlook.  They will be fully involved in all aspects of WSBRC’s work, setting the strategic direction and management, developing products and services, and developing and managing key client and customer relationships.

You will also have an understanding of the management of biological data and some technical understanding of how data is organised and output using bespoke database and mapping software.  You will have line management responsibility for a team of staff and office volunteers.

We are looking for a candidate with a strategic outlook and focus, who is highly organised and motivated and who has the ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively. Adaptability and flexibility is essential in this role as is excellent attention to detail. Experience of working with volunteers and engaging with the public is also required.

WSBRC promotes and supports high quality biological recording and monitoring and is part of a national network of local environmental records centres.  It gathers, manages, interprets and disseminates a wide range of biological and geological information for use by key decision makers and land managers.
