The Specialist, Marine Ecosystems and Fisheries, reports to and works closely with the Senior Specialist, Marine Ecosystems and Fisheries and collaborates with individuals from a wide range cross-functional WWF programs and functions. The position is integral to implementing WWF-Canada's commitments under select federal government grants, namely the Canada Nature Fund grant to reduce fishing and ghost gear pressure on species at risk near the Gilbert Bay MPA; the Environmental Damages Fund grant to restore habitat in Parker's Brook, in Newfoundland and Labrador, multiple Impact Assessment Agency of Canada grants to support participation in offshore oil and gas environmental assessments and to reduce and mitigate the impacts on the marine environment more generally.
