Overview
This volunteer program provides a unique opportunity to contribute to wildlife and biodiversity conservation in Uganda, while immersing yourself in the country’s stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage.

Details
Uganda, a country in central Africa, is well known for its breathtaking scenery and remarkable biodiversity. A diverse range of wildlife, including chimpanzees, forest elephants, and numerous bird species, may be found in Uganda’s vast savannahs and lush rainforests. Some of the most iconic species in the world may be found in the nation’s national parks and protected regions, which makes it an important area for conservation initiatives.
By supporting park rangers with research, keeping an eye on animal numbers, and reducing human-wildlife interactions, volunteers can make a significant impact on wildlife protection and sustainable community development. Elephants and chimpanzees, which frequently cause crop damage and other problems for nearby farmers, will be the focus of your efforts.

In addition, you’ll support initiatives aimed at reducing deforestation by promoting eco-friendly alternatives, such as biogas systems and beehive fences. Working closely with local communities, you’ll play a vital role in improving livelihoods while protecting the region’s natural resources.
By joining this conservation project, you’ll become part of a dedicated team striving to maintain Uganda’s biodiversity, ensuring that its wildlife and ecosystems continue to thrive for generations to come.

Accommodation & Meals
During your stay in Uganda, you will be housed in a secure and comfortable guesthouse in the heart of Fort Portal. The modern, well-equipped rooms offer private or shared accommodation with large beds, Western-style toilets, and hot showers. Facilities include 24/7 Wi-Fi, a living room for relaxation, and a spacious garden. All meals are provided on-site, and there is a laundry service available for an additional fee.
You will receive three meals a day – breakfast, lunch, and dinner – seven days a week. Breakfast is served around 8 AM, lunch at 1 PM, and dinner between 7 and 8 PM, usually in buffet style. Snacks are not included, and additional food outside of meal times is at your own expense. On weekends, you have free time to explore impressive national parks such as Kibale, Bwindi, and Queen Elizabeth. The local team will be happy to assist you with planning excursions like chimpanzee or gorilla trekking and other leisure activities.

About us
NATUCATE is a German agency, specialized in voluntary work, field guide training, nature-oriented educational courses and internships with a focus on nature and species conservation as well as animal protection. Moreover, we create and organize individual sabbaticals; commitment for nature conservation and personal development being in the centre. Sustainable and responsible traveling, so-called ecotourism, as well as nature and adventure travel are further areas of expertise.
Our projects, courses and tours, fulfilling high sustainability standards, enable people – from graduates to best agers – to make an active contribution to protecting and conserving endangered species and ecosystems and, at the same time, to broaden their personal horizon.
