Position Overview
The incoming Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TreePeople will advance environmental resilience and uphold principles of environmental equity. With an annual budget of $22 million and a team of 180 staff members, this senior leadership role is pivotal in steering TreePeople’s transformative agenda—especially initiatives that support marginalized communities with limited green spaces.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Organizational Leadership: Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and implement the strategic plan, cultivate a culture of professional growth, and ensure that all operations adhere to the highest ethical standards.
- Community Engagement: Represent TreePeople at local, regional, state, and national events, develop partnerships, and enhance community-wide visibility through events and outreach.
- Financial Management: Work alongside the CFO to manage financial planning, budgeting, and revenue diversification to secure the organization’s financial health.
- Board Administration and Support: Facilitate effective collaboration between the Board and staff, supporting governance functions with timely communication and planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., non-profit management, business administration).
- A minimum of ten (10) years in management and/or leadership roles, including at least five (5) years in a non-profit setting.
- Proven strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and experience in managing teams and funding relationships.
- A strong commitment to the mission and core values of TreePeople.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary is between $200,000–$250,000. Benefits include employer-paid medical coverage, optional dental and vision plans, life insurance, generous paid time off, and supplemental benefits.
