You'll be pivotal to the future direction of our team in Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire with a focus on biodiversity advice and projects that bring Water Framework Directive outcomes. The key area of work is minimising ecological impacts from our own activities and delivering improved river habitats. You'll provide technical advice on ecological issues to internal customers focusing on biodiversity outcomes, mitigation and scheme design. You'll also manage a range of exciting projects and support project delivery by external partners.
The Team
Fisheries, Biodiversity and Geomorphology provides technical advice and guidance both internally and externally, guided by our statutory responsibilities for environmental protection, improvement and regulation. Much of our focus is on Flood and Coastal Risk Management works and Water Framework Directive outcomes and delivering multiple benefits. We also work closely with external partners to maximise ecological improvements in our Area. We are a team of very enthusiastic and dedicated people who want to deliver the best for the environment.
Experience/Skills Required
We're looking for an enthusiastic person with excellent influencing and negotiating skills to join our team.
You'll need a good knowledge of ecology and biodiversity, including relevant legislation.
You'll be good at problem solving with an awareness of a range of river management techniques.
Have excellent communication skills and be a strong team player.
A passion for delivering environmental outcomes is essential.
