Are you a go-getting, creative-minded, detail-oriented individual looking for real-world graphic design experience? Save The Bay is seeking motivated interns to support the development and production of clear and engaging print and digital materials for special events and public programs.

Our mission is to protect and improve Narragansett Bay, working toward a fully swimmable, fishable, and healthy environment accessible to all.
Location & Time Commitment
The internship will primarily take place in-person at the Bay Center in Providence, with additional opportunities at the Aquarium in Newport and on educational vessels. This is a semester-long internship requiring 10-12 hours per week, including at least 1-2 days on-site (10am-3pm) and occasional evenings/weekends for special events.
Requirements
- College student, recent graduate, grad student, or beginning professional in communications (marketing, public relations, journalism, media, graphic/web design, etc.)
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, G-Suite, and Microsoft Word
- Strong creativity, initiative, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Comfort with public speaking and representing Save The Bay at events
- Personal vehicle for transportation to offsite locations
What You Will Learn
- Update and produce graphic identity elements and design layouts
- Create or revise tech/spec packages for apparel and graphics under guidance from the Communications and Marketing Director
- Assist in updating media lists and organizing both paper and electronic department files
- Participate in various graphic design projects, including catalog pages, web pages, marketing graphics, and email graphics
- Help update the website to meet ADA standards
Additional Details
This is an unpaid internship opportunity. Save The Bay is open to working with your university if college credit or stipend opportunities are available. Application materials include an online application, cover letter, resume, and a writing sample.
