Description

SLR is a global environmental and sustainability consultancy delivering science-based solutions across marine, coastal, and infrastructure sectors. With a growing presence in the Middle East, the firm supports major developments including offshore renewables, ports, and coastal infrastructure.

This senior leadership role focuses on leading marine Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) across the region. The position provides technical direction, regulatory strategy, and client engagement while shaping sustainable coastal development and strengthening SLR’s regional marine practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership on marine and coastal ESIA projects
  • Lead environmental assessments for offshore and coastal infrastructure projects
  • Direct marine baseline studies including ecology, water quality, and hydrodynamics
  • Conduct marine impact modelling and cumulative impact assessments
  • Advise clients, regulators, and lenders on environmental strategy
  • Align projects with international environmental standards and frameworks
  • Provide environmental risk advice during feasibility and design stages
  • Oversee preparation and submission of ESIA and permitting documentation
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to ensure project quality and delivery
  • Drive business development and proposal preparation
  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level consultants
  • Engage with regulatory authorities and environmental agencies

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in marine science, environmental science, or related field
  • Twelve or more years of experience in environmental consulting
  • Extensive experience leading marine ESIA projects
  • Knowledge of regional environmental permitting frameworks
  • Familiarity with international lender standards
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong understanding of marine processes and impact assessment
  • Ability to manage complex stakeholder environments
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Willingness to travel across the region
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • DECCA registration
  • Arabic language skills
