WRA is an employee-owned environmental consultancy supporting projects across wildlands, infrastructure, and community spaces. With decades of experience, the firm partners with clients to ensure environmental compliance and sustainable outcomes.
This seasonal, project-based role supports compliance monitoring across Northern California, including the San Francisco Bay Area. The position focuses on fieldwork, species monitoring, and coordination with construction teams to ensure environmental permit requirements are met.
Responsibilities
- Monitor construction crews to ensure compliance with environmental permits
- Conduct fieldwork including surveys and compliance monitoring activities
- Work extended field shifts, including occasional night work
- Complete daily reporting and documentation with accuracy and detail
- Communicate effectively with crews, clients, and project managers
- Perform occasional physical labor in field environments
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field or equivalent experience
- Willingness to work night shifts and extended hours
- Ability to work outdoors for long periods in varying conditions
- Ability to work in construction environments with safety awareness
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Technological aptitude and willingness to learn new software
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to provide training to groups
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with special-status California species
- Experience with SWPP implementation or monitoring
- Experience with fish salvage or acoustic monitoring
- Experience with air quality monitoring or grade checking
- Experience conducting protocol-level wildlife or plant surveys
- HAZWOPER certification

- Location: San Francisco Bay Area, California, United States
- Schedule: Seasonal, project-based with variable hours
- Fieldwork may include shifts of 12 hours or more and up to six days per week
- Work availability dependent on project demand
