About COAST - Community of Arran Seabed Trust

Founded in 1995, the Community of Arran Seabed trust (COAST), is a pioneering, community led, marine conservation organisation.
After proudly establishing Scotland's first No Take Zone in 2008 and the South Arran Marine Protected Area in 2016, COAST is now recognised worldwide as one of the UK’s leading community marine conservation organisations, enjoying widespread support on Arran and beyond. COAST continues to promote sustainable marine management, deliver education programmes and empower coastal communities, aiming to protect inshore waters not only on Arran, but across the globe.
